The SAT and ACT are competitive standardized tests that determine a student’s college readiness. For most students, these tests require comprehensive preparation and practice. At Bay Area Tutoring Centers, our knowledgeable and experienced SAT and ACT tutors can help your student master the material and improve scores.

We begin most standardized test prep programs by giving the student a full-length practice exam; based on these diagnostic scores we create a customized program. Students then learn and practice valuable strategies to boost confidence and help them score their best.
We split our standardized test preparation between the math and the verbal portions of the test (SAT Math and SAT Evidence Based Reading & Writing; ACT Math and ACT English, Reading, Science, & Writing/Essay). The math sessions have a ratio of two or three students to one tutor and the verbal sessions are always one-on-one. This means students generally come for two hours each week, which can be scheduled together or separately, on both weekdays and weekends. We offer in-person sessions, online tutoring, and hybrid programs (in-person/online combination).
Many families struggle with choosing the right test for their students; if considering the SAT or ACT, you may schedule a practice test of each type at no charge. We only use actual SAT and ACT exams that are released from official test administrators, both to evaluate initial needs, and subsequently to map the progress of our students throughout their preparation.
